Queenford Lake relays – Sunday 18th September 2011

The Henley Swim team are very pleased to announce the Queenford Lake relays. A new event at the Queenford Lakes Watersports Centre, between Wallingford and Oxford on the A4074. This stunning venue is home to the largest lake in Oxfordshire. It’s perfect for open water swimming, with good consistent depth all the way round.

We've worked closely with the lake owners to bring you a unique open water event. So bring along your family and friends, do your swim, have a picnic and enjoy the stunning lake surroundings. There's even a playground for the children.

This event will provide a fast, furious and exciting end to the open water season, with lots of swimming, screaming and shouting. Teams of 4 will compete over a 1000m course in a relay format (each member of the team will complete 1000m). The first team to complete the 4km relay course will win their category.

Teams of 4 are invited to compete in the following categories in either mens or womens (or the mixed option)

  • Open men or women
  • Masters - men or women (aged 45+ on the day of the race)
  • Junior - men or women (aged 14-18 on the day of the race)
  • Traditional - men or women (speedo style swim suit only)
  • Mixed - 2 men and 2 women (these can be open, masters or juniors)

Entries will be opening up in the next few weeks at www.henleyswim.com. Follow our facebook page where we will announce the date.
